GINUE is opening up new horizons in the education sector by producing competent teachers who will contribute to the advancement of elementary education of Korea, boost their professional expertise, and take a leadership role in the field.

Graduate School of Education

The Graduate School of Education opened its doors on March 2, 1996, with the aim of producing excellent professionals in the field of elementary education and contributing to the advancement of elementary education in Korea. It obtained approval to be promoted to the status of “graduate school of education” on November 15, 2012. It currently has 18 students each year for 11 doctoral degree programs, and 647 students for 26 master’s degree programs.

    The goal of GSE is to contribute to the empowerment of educators by;

    • 3Contributing to the development of elementary education.
    • 4Promoting in-service teachers' professional development.

    4,758 master's degrees have been awarded since 1998.

    • Double Degree Program2012. Double Degree Program in Special Education with St. Cloud State University (USA) was launched.

  • Admission Requirements

    A complete application form, Official transcripts from all previous universities or colleges, Academic Ability Test & English Proficiency Test (Doctoral applicants only), Oral Interview.

  • Eligibility

    Master's Program

    A bachelor's degree holder (or the equivalent or higher intellectual competency as determined by the admissions committee).

    Exceptions :

    • Elementary Special Education requires a Teacher's Certificate in Elementary Education or a Teacher's Certificate in Special Education.
    • Elementary School Counseling requires a Teacher's Certificate in Elementary Education and applicate must be a practicing teacher.
    • Early Childhood Education requires a Teacher's Certificate in Early Childhood Education and applicant must be a practicing teacher.
    Doctoral Program

    A master's degree holder (or the equivalent or higher intellectual competency as determined by the admissions committee) and a Teacher's Certificate in Elementary Education, with more than 3 years of teaching experience.
