Korean Education

The objective of the Department of Korean Education is to nurture educators pecializingin elementary Korean language education. To this end, students familiarize themselves with the academic knowledge and inquiry methods to teach listening, speaking, read-ing, and writing skills as well as grammar and literature to elementary school students to improve their thinking and learning skills, and apply their knowledge and skills in an actual elementary school setting. The intensive cur-riculum includes understanding and expression of the Korean language, grammar, literature, and use of the media. Through these courses, students develop the qualities required of professional teachers who can help elementary school students develop reading and writing skills, in addition to the ability to communi-cate in an accurate and creative manner.
