Departments
English Education
The Department of English Education was established in 1994 around the time when elementary English education became compulsory. Based on a mission to nurture competent teachers who can provide elementary English instruction and lead the advancement of elementary English education in Korea, the department has been educating and researching the theories and practices of elementary English education. The curriculum aims to help students gain basic knowledge about English subject. Courses such as basic theories in English linguistics, English and American literature, and children’s literature provide a foundation of English language studies. Students are also offered opportunities to learn theories and teaching methods in the field of English education, and explore the possibility of applying them in the actual field through various courses.
